The Villa

Our b&b is in Gambassi Terme, an ideal starting point to know Florence, Siena and Pisa. Towering on top of hills or extending along the rivers, white with marbles or red with bricks, the pearls of Art hide behind their perfection a past of war, unrest, and love. 

But Villa della Certosa is also an invite to discover the minor settlements just a few kilometres out: Certaldo home of Boccaccio, the Holy mount of San Vivaldo, also known as the Tuscan Gerusalem, San Gimignano with its towers, Volterra home of the Etruscans. An engaging immersion in a straordinary territory, at any pace of your choosing.

We care for you by offering a fresh style of sojourn. No place anonymous, but intimate and reassuring spaces where you can feel at home, designed to guarantee your privacy. The double rooms, result of a keen restoration, furnished by selecting each piece meticulously from the furniture down to the decorations.

There are journeys with plenty of stories and emotions within. Ours begins in Gambassi Terme, a small medieval settlement in Val d’Elsa along the Via Francigena, the olden road, built by the Lombards, which led merchants, bankers and pilgrims from Santiago de Compostela ‘til Rome. To retrace those steps is to discover the true Tuscany, a fascinating and generous land, extending between Siena and Florence. 

Your sight will get lost in the subtle profile of the waving hills, patched with rows of grapevines, secular olive trees and evergreen groves, and on the hillocks, among the cypresses, parishes and noble estates peek through.
